I am Vergel San Miguel, a New York based sommelier currently serving a fine dining restaurant in Midtown.
I bring over 20 years of restaurant experience from Manila, Singapore, Aspen, and New York City, which has shaped my global perspective and deep respect for the craft of service. I’m a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS), currently pursuing the WSET Diploma (Level 4), and a proud graduate of the Intensive Sommelier Training program at the International Culinary Center (Class of 2018).
Throughout my career, I’ve had the honor of shaping wine programs for some of NYC’s most dynamic spots. At Temperance Wine Bar, I curated a globally focused list that helped the bar earn recognition as one of the Top 10 Wine Bars in NYC. I also served as Beverage Manager at Atoboy and NARO, where I helped create a wine list designed to pair seamlessly with its bold and innovative modern Korean cuisine.
As I advance toward becoming a Master Sommelier there will be books to read, classes to attend, exams to take, and of course great bottles to drink. I am looking forward to sharing this journey with you.
